Any high school senior may audition for the scholarships. You DO NOT have to be a resident of St. Clair Shores. You MUST call by February 15th to be included in the auditions.

Our scholarship contestants are judged on a points system. They must meet a minimum amount of points on the judging system in the four top requirements:
Preparation, Presentation, Intonation, and Diction.

*Scholarships given based on fund availability.

 Scholarship Winners 2016-2017

First Place Scholarship Winner - Nathaniel Zook

Nathaniel Zook is a senior at Fraser High School. He has belonged to Tri-M Music Honors Society, Fraser Singers, Fraser Jazz Band, Fraser Symphony Band, Fraser Marching Band, and Fraser Symphonic Ensemble. He has held trumpet 1st chair and section leader in band and was tenor section leader of Fraser Singers. He was awarded 1st Division ratings at regional and state level solo and ensemble for both voice and trumpet for 4 years. He has been an altar server at St. Therese for 7 years. He is also a peer counselor and bible school teacher at St. Therese. He is a Fraser Vocal Music Scholarship recipient, received Maestro Award at the Heritage Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee and was also a recipient of the Most Dedicated Musician Award.

Nathaniel plans to attend Wayne State University this Fall in the hopes of obtaining a degree in music education. After graduating college he would love to be a music teacher, choral or band director. 

“Music has brought me tremendous joy throughout my life”, Nathaniel says, “and I would find it most gratifying to enable others to experience the joy that music brings. I come from a musical family and music is my bliss.”



Second Place Winner - Breanne Fibranz

Breanne Fibranz in a senior at Fraser High School. She is the Secretary of Tri-M Music Honors Society and participates in FPACA (Fraser Performing Arts Career Academy), Fraser Singers, and the Theatre program doing musicals and plays. During the summer she is a camp director for summer theatre camp.

Breanna plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University in hopes of obtaining a degree in elementary education. After college graduation she hopes to get a teaching position to shape the young minds and watch them learn and grow into adults.

“To know that I impacted a child’s life in a positive way and hear them say, ‘because of you, I….’, That is my ultimate goal, influencing a child’s life through learning”, states Breanna.


Third Place Winner - Matthew Jacobs

Matthew Jacobs is a senior at Fraser High School. He belongs to Fraser Singers, FPACA (Fraser Performing Arts Career Academy), is the Drum Major this year in the Fraser Marching Band. He is the current President of the Tri-M Musical Honor    Society. Matthew was also the junior class representative for Fraser HOSA. He is an active member in St. Ronald’s youth group, has been in 13 productions in the theatre since 2011, and was choreographer for the RMS Show Choir and FYC.

Matthew is planning on attending Michigan State University in hopes of obtaining a degree in Human Biology with a minor in German. His career goal is to become a physician, specializing in emergency medicine.

“I hope to make a positive impact on as many people as possible,” he says, “and make an overall difference in the world”.
